Abstract
This report presents disagreement with the absence of civil aspects in the socio-cultural standards in literarature education. Suggested is a possible option for the formation of civil values through art works, which are beyond the list of canonical literary education. The focus is on artistic images of one of the main pillars of modern liberal democracy – the freedom of speech.
