BUILDING SKILLS FOR TRANSLATING NATIONALLY TINTED WORDS – THE CHALLENGE OF GREEK WORDS REALIA
Abstract
The text analyzes the need to develop sensitivity and skills to translate culturally specific words in the training translation from Modern Greek Language. It outlines the parameters of the term “Realia” and possible translation strategies for the transformation of national identities with the purpose of achieving an effective pragmatic adaptation of the translated text.
