DIALECT CASE FORM REMNANTS IN THE RAYKOVO DAMASCENE
Abstract
Besides the Church Slavonic case forms inherited from the literary tradition, there are active folk case patterns in the Damascene. These include the genitive-accusative case forms ending with an -a from nouns in masculine form, the generalized vocative case form господи serving as a subject and an indirect object, traces of the archaic dative case form for the feminine singular form, сфетехи, женетухи, the declining third personal indicative pronoun ТЪ is a function of the definite article. The first feature is widely spread in contemporary Bulgarian language, while the others are a result of a limited dialectical development, in parallel with the main approach towards analytical construction.
