КОМПОЗИЦИЈА И ПОСТУПАК ПРИПОВЕДАЊА У БОЖЈИМ ЉУДИМА БОРИСАВА СТАНКОВИЋА
Abstract
Borisav Stankovic, one of the greatest Serbian narrators, in his collection of short stories God’s people (1902) revived a special world, which has never been presented in Serbian literature before. Recent readings of this creation confirm carefully built composition on the principle of album construction, framed by epilogue and prologue, as well as impressive characters, described by effective procedures of narration. By using the temporal process in his narration, Stankovic does not show so called clips from life but, when it is a more developed composition or fragmentary representation, he follows his character from some moment in the past until the final breakdown or death. Modern expression and narration (film framing of images, elliptical sentences, neonaturalistic scenes) are a kind of a constant to which later writers will be directed. God’s people represent creation that cannot be avoided in situating the modernist direction in Serbian literature.
