РАЗМИСЛИ ПО ПОВОД ЕДНА КЛАСИЧЕСКА СМЪРТ
Abstract
The paper aims at situating the tragedy of Kocho Chestimesnki (in history as such as well as in Ivan Vazov’s ode). The hero’s self-sacrificial death is an opportunity for us to grasp what is actually happening with the concept of national identity in the perception of the generation that shaped itself during the years of political transition in Bulgaria. The major terms, operationally set in motion to unearth the continual sense of ‘classical death’ are: ‘memory’, ‘conscience’ and ‘horizon of expectations’. The strategy of research and reflection rests on the conviction that one could only speak about time in time itself.
