The article focuses on the system of characters. Our attention is mainly turned towards the figure of Pyotr Daryalsky, a poet and writer, who becomes part of the strange world of the „dove sect“. He stands in the middle of the system of personages. This monocentristic position allows Daryalsky the connecting with the other. So, all relations seemed to function either on the thematical or the structural level. We base our analysis on the method of equivalences aiming at illustrating the connecting function of Pyotr Daryalsky.
