Abstract
The paper promotes an overview of the various ways in which the works of Dmitry Merezhkovsky refer to the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky and to their author himself. It attempts to actualise the archival concepts of „a pupil“ and „an epigone“ in order to classify those relations and to retain the awareness of the changing (both evolving and fluctuating) position of Merezhkovsky as regards Dostoevsky.
