Abstract

The paper attempts to reveal the characteristic features in the development of folklore studies in socialist Bulgaria. The author discusses the parameters of folklore research, the nature of the achievements in this period, the career developments of the most prominent scholars, their ideas and publications, etc. At the same time these peculiarities are further interpreted on the background of the entire history of Bulgarian folklore studies.
