Abstract
In this article the term „axiological horizon“ will be shortly defined by the application of the narratological approach to the study of fictional works. Axiological horizons of the narrator and the „abstract“ author, as the instances responsible for the compositional organization of the text, will be thoroughly studied in F. M. Dostoevsky’s Notes from Underground. The results of our axiological analysis will be compared with the conclusions in M. M. Bakhtin’s „Problems of Dostoevsky’s Poetics“ in order to follow the developments of this emerging approach in literary studies.
