THE ATTRACTIVE FORCE OF THE TELENOVELLA
Abstract
The present research focuses on Latin American telenovelas’ attractive force. It is based on the notion of auto communication argued by Yuri Lotman and the notion of “recognition-substitute” arrived at by Tsvetan Todorov. We will also make a brief summary of the main issues that telenovelas treat and which, to a great extent, condtion their attractive force to the public. Finally, we will get to know the literary roots of some famous telenovelas.
