dc.description.abstractThe present research focuses on Latin American telenovelas’ attractive force. It is based on the notion of auto communication argued by Yuri Lotman and the notion of “recognition-substitute” arrived at by Tsvetan Todorov. We will also make a brief summary of the main issues that telenovelas treat and which, to a great extent, condtion their attractive force to the public. Finally, we will get to know the literary roots of some famous telenovelas.en_US
