LANGUAGE AND NATIONAL IDENTITY
Abstract
The present article offers a brief examination of the possible correlation between language and national identity. While venturing into the area of historical and modern linguistics, our perspective has been philosophical. We have enumerated the main pillars of a nation and noted that the loss of some of them accompanies the formation of a new nation. Thus we have been led to assert the existence of a fundamental correlation between language and national identity.
