PROSE-FICTION ADAPTATIONS OF HOMER’S ILIAD FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS (1878-1944): PROBLEMS OF THE RECEPTION
Abstract
This article presents four adaptations of Homer’s Iliad for young readers within the period 1878-1944. The editions are prosified and abbreviated. In some of them there are many illustrations. The first book is an adaptation for children and the rest of the books are for adolescents. One of the books is a Bulgarian adaptation whilst the remaining three are translations.
