DEVELOPMENTAL PROCESSES IN THE PARTICIPLE SYSTEM OF GREEK LANGUAGE
Abstract
The article aims at tracing and describing the metamorphoses in the historical development of the Greek participle system. An important point that determines the correct interpretation of participles as a category and the concept of their systematic nature is the clarification of their grammatical status in the history of the language. We believe that detailed knowledge of the processes in a diachronic perspective is a prerequisite for an easier understanding of the current state of the language and the perception of the regularities in the formation of grammatical structures.
