PHRASEOLOGICAL CREATIVITY IN JOURNALISTIC TEXTS

Abstract

The use of phraseological units in newspaper articles is a clear example of intelligent linguistic creativity. Fixed expressions have the ability to adapt to the contexts in which they are included in various ways. By means of discussing a variety of examples we are going to demonstrate the effectiveness and the potential of the phraseological units that are being modified in order to serve different communicative purposes.
