Abstract

This article is about the transcription and adaptation of Spanish borrowings in the Bulgarian language. In this sense, the article examines topical issues of the Bulgarian orthography and orthoepy nowadays, as the number of Spanish words used in Bulgarian is constantly increasing. Special attention is paid to the designation of monetary units in the countries where Spanish is an official language, and their adaptation to the norms of the Bulgarian literary language.
