THE ABSENCE OF THE CHARACTER AS A SACRED MANIFESTATION OF THE PERSONALITY IN PUSHKIN’S DRAMA “BORIS GODUNOVˮ
Abstract
This article presents a different view and interpretation through the Biblical-Christian tradition of Pushkin's drama "Boris Godunov", and in particular the socalled “absent character“ in the text, as under the “absent character“ it should be understood the one who does not appear in the action (on the stage) but who is at the center of the collision. His manifestation affects the transcendent, out of the reality action, because in its essence the transcendent one is not of the today’s world. Also, the personality who is absent from the events, is thought to be going beyond the limits of the earth and reaching sacred purity.
