COMMON PHONETIC CHANGES IN BULGARIAN MEDIA SPEECH (PILOT SURVEY)
Abstract
In recent years media speech has often been a subject of research in the field of linguistics. In this article, the object of observation and analysis are also media texts. The aim of this pilot study is to identify the most common phonetic changes in contemporary Bulgarian media speech on the basis of the most frequently researched phonetic changes – elision, epenthesis, depalatalization, and the articulation of the alveodental consonant [l] as [ŭ]. The results show that elision and articulation of [l] as [ŭ] have higher frequency in media speech. This article presents an analysis of elision.
