THE STYLOGENETIC FUNCTION OF THE PERSONAL NAMES IN THE COMEDIES OF BRANISLAV NUŠIĆ
Abstract
This article explores the names (local and foreign), the nicknames, the hypochoristic personal namess and the affectionately names (with a familiar connotation) as a devices of linguistic stylistics in Branislav Nušić's comedies (“PhD”, “A Suspicious person”, “A Member of the Parliament”, “The Cabinet Minister's Wife”, “Mister Dollar” and others from the end of 19th – to the first decades of 20th century) to achieve a cascade of bright verbal- comic, ironic and satirical effects, which are also able to recreate also individual, typical or national traits and situations.
