NOMINAL AUGMENTATIVE SUFFIXATION IN THE SPANISH AND THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE
Abstract
The aim of this research is to carry out a contrastive analysis between the Spanish and the Bulgarian languages with respect to the formation of augmentative nouns. We will attempt to define the differences and similarities between the two languages subject to comparison and describe the Spanish and Bulgarian suffixes which form these nouns. We will direct our attention to the categorical pertinence of the augmentative nouns, to the productivity of the different Spanish and Bulgarian suffixes and to the phonetic and morphological changes occurring in the respective derivatives.
