PHRASEOLOGICAL MEANING AS A PHENOMENON PREDETERMINED BY CULTURE
Abstract
The present paper examines several phraseological units with the component φρένες, which express concepts of mental or emotional state. The importance of phraseology in the study of in depth penetration of culture into language (in the form of mythologems, symbols, stereotypes, prototype situations, etc.) is discussed. The analysis of the language material proves that phraseological meaning is culturally predetermined.
