THE FORMAL AND THE SEMANTIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE LEXICAL UNITS AND ALEXANDER DUVERNUA’S “A DICTIONARY OF BULGARIAN LANGUAGE BASED ON FOLK LITERARY HERITAGE AND PUBLICATIONS OF TODAY’S PRESS“
Abstract
The subject of research is the formal and semantic relations between the lexical units that had an effect on the first Bulgarian dictionary of the Russian scientist Alexander Duvernua. The synonyms and the synonym groups are analyzed. Different types of synonyms are characterized: relative, absolute, expressive, archaic, dialectal, synonyms with the same root and phraseological synonyms. Antonyms are presented from a word-forming (structural) point of view- antonyms with a different root and antonyms with the same root. Full and partial homonyms and paronyms with the same or a different etymological origin are presented in the dictionary. The descriptive method as well as the comparative historical and the statistical methods have been used used.
