OBSERVATIONS ON THE VOCABULARY IN THE FIRST RUSSIAN-BULGARIAN DICTIONARY BY S. FILARETOV
Abstract
An opinion is expressed that the Russian-Bulgarian phrasebook authored by S. Filaretov is part of the pocket-size publications, meant for the Russian soldiers, and printed in 1854. The analyzed lexicographic work is the only completed and printed Russian-Bulgarian dictionary during the Bulgarian National Revival. It is little known to scientists and the wider philologist community. The selected Bulgarian equivalences provide information on the state of the standard language from the middle of the 19th century.
