OBSERVATIONS ON THE (UN)KNOWN TEXT OF THE PRIEST YOAN’S REWRITE OF ISTORIYA SLAVYANOBULGARSKA BY PAISII HILENDARSKI

Abstract

The object of study is the manuscript book of Priest Yoan’s Rewrite (Zmeevo, 1830) of “Istoriya Slavyanobulgarska“ by Paisii Hilendarski. Through comparative analysis I have discussed the similarities and differences between it and the other two manuscripts: The Rila Recension of “Istoriya Slavyanobulgarska“ and Hariton’s first recension. The study provides evidence of linguistic and textual character that point to the interrelationships between the three manuscripts.
