ABOUT A GROUP OF HYDROGRAPHIC TERMS IN MICROTOPONYMY
Abstract
The subject of the study is the microtroponymy from Western Bulgaria, formed by or with the participation of hydrographic terms. Of particular interest are words that refer to springs. This is a small part of the water marking and related to water objects, which are preserved in the Bulgarian hydronymy collected over time. The aim of the study is to bring together this semantic lexical group and to summarize the complex of facts by drawing conclusions on the origin, structure and word-forming features of these names. For the fulfillment of this goal, the fowolling linguistic methods were applied – etymological, structural, and wordforming.; Last, but not least, the geographical distribution of hydronymes is taken into consideration.
