dc.description.abstractWith the present elaboration we are looking for the answer to the question how effective the education of reading for adults is with the intention of gaining command of basic skills for working with a text. Analyzing some terminological problems and interpretations, reading and literacy are examined as an instrument for the construction of knowledge. A conceptual scheme is suggested whose operation is subject of future investigations.en_US
