Tutorial literature started developing during the Revival, as well as after the Liberation, which is of great significance for building a uniform educational system. A total of 182 issues of chrestomathies and readers are published in the period 1878 – 1944. The first translations of parts of works of Hellenic literature were published in four chrestomathies from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The compilers of these school miscellanies show creativity by including texts by Homer, Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides and Aristophanes.en_US
