Abstract

In the last one and a half year due to the successful partnership between professors of Plovdiv University and Sofia University, the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, the Institute of Art Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and doctoral students from the Department of Classical philology of Sofia University, new perspectives have emerged in the study of antiquity and innovative possibilities have been given fresh insights according to the world’s tendencies in educational reforms and improvement. The Classical Receptions Research Project at the core of whose purposes is the research and analysis of the reception of ancient drama in Bulgaria, challenges not only the more and more fragile connection between research and education, but also the relations between research and social and cultural policies in past and present times.
