dc.description.abstract | The text makes an attempt to clarify one aspect of the comparative area „Chekhov – Dostoevsky“, traditionally regarded in literary history and literary studies as futile, so that it has only ravely or conditionally,been examined. Tracing through the way of an almost accomplished storyteller, but still emerging playwright Anton Chekhov in the early 80-s of the nineteenth century, the author finds Dostoevsky`s influence on his dramaturgical thinking. Concrete is the choice of a significant scene from the novel „Idiot“, adapted by Chekhov for the aims of his own plot in its early one-act piece „On the High Road“ (1885). | en_US |
