CRYPTOGRAPHY AND SIGNS (THE BATTLE CODE IN YORDAN YOVKOV’S PROSE FICTION WORK)
Abstract
The author of the present research compares Yovkov’s early and late texts about war and makes an attempt to figure out and comment on the changes in the narrative perspective to the war and the reconsideration of some of the key constructions of Yovkov’s early works, especially in the stories written after WWI. She also emphasizes the problem “war – disease” and on the very fact that during its description in Yovkov’s military prose, schemes known from our Revival and Liberation literature are permanently revived and problematized, and links to the texts from The Old and New Testament are being established.
