ON PROPER NOUNS OF LATIN DERIVATION IN POLISH OF FEMALE SAINTS CANONIZED BOTH BY THE EASTERN ORTHODOX AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCHES
Abstract
The research object of the present text is the feminine Polish personal names Latin by origin canonized by the Catholic and the Orthodox Church. Its main aim is their full list to be presented, including all their variants. Names are divided into several groups according to the type of the appellative used during the process of their formation, i. e. if it is a noun, an adjective, a verb, etc., and according to the word-building model used during their derivation from a Latin personal name, i. e. if it is derived from the working base or from the form for Nom. sg. of the Latin anthroponym. It is worth mentioning the initial meaning of the observed name, when it is possible.
