PAISII HILENDARSKI'S SOCIAL ROLES IN SLAVONICBULGARIAN HISTORY (ACCORDING TO SOME BULGARIAN WRITERS FROM THE NATIONAL REVIVAL PERIOD)
Abstract
In the few classes devoted to Paisii Hilendarski at 10th grade the teacher of literature has to give more information about the first writer about the Bulgarian national revival. It can be done during seminars. The class should be divided into groups so that the students can work in teams. It will also create conditions to examine the evaluations, given by different writers about the monk, the personality, the scholar and the artist in the context of the particular epoch. Adolescents are supposed to make comments on those evaluations based on their personal observations on the chrestomathy (the two Forewords and the Afterword). Thus the 10-graders dip in the deeper layers of the text and reach the messages of the most read and transcribed author who has pushed forward the thinking of his contemporaries so the process of their national consolidation could begin.
