The present text discusses the short stories of the female writers of Bulgarian origin Evgeniya Mars and Ana Karima. There is an apparent public conflict between the two women which can also be observed in the difference in their writing. The comparison between their works is based on an investigation of the theme of death. Evgeniya Mars and Ana Karima`s approaches differ with regard to this very theme in theirs stories. Despite the differences however, the short stories of both writers are dominated by sentimentality, sensuality, love, suffering and compassion.en_US
