The present article deals with the problematic nature of teaching a pluricentric language as a foreign language. The article raises the question of whether to teach a single variant, a few variants or even all variants of a pluricentric language. The issue is examined in view of both its pedagogical and practical implications. The pluricentric languages which provide the examples for the present study are English and Spanish.en_US
