THE SEMANTICS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ADVERB SEGA (NOW) IN BULGARIAN AND ITS POLISH EQUIVALENTS

Abstract

The adverb ‘sega’ has a rich semantic structure in Bulgarian, which does not only express the moment of speaking. ‘Sega’ is one of the most frequent temporal adverbs and at the same time it is a basis for the indicative pronouns for time. In this text an attempt is made its basic semantic hints to be revealed by presenting some of its functional and semantic Polish equivalents such as teraz, zaraz, obecnie as well as their functions in Polish.
