THE TEACHING GRAMMAR OF GEORGIOS GENADIOS
Abstract
The following article focuses on the dominant field of education in modern Greek society; it emphasizes the wide-ranging significance and development of national literary Greek language. The sociolinguistic situation in the 19th century created a phenomenon with ancient roots, traditionally called diglossia, formulating all modifications of language structures. During the Greek Enlightenment the process of progressive intellectual and cultural revival was influenced by highly educated Greek scholars and entirely connected with the Greek history, literature and linguistic sphere.
