THE ROLE OF CULTURE IN TEACHING SERBIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The role of culture in teaching Serbian as a foreign language is discussed in this paper. The research is focused on cultural orientation, resulting in the adoption of national culture when students learn a foreign language. The impact of culture on language is reflected in the phraseology, proverbs, verbal associations, songs, movies, etc. Serbian language lectors should have cultural competence, which makes teaching process better.
