WHO ARE YOU?: ALICE ON A JOURNEY TO HER SELF
Abstract
The article explores Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll,
and more specifically how Alice seeks for her self in Wonderland. Two prisms
are combined for the purpose: Freud’s dream interpretation and Vladimir
Propp’s initiation in the fairy tales. Applied together Alice’s journey in
Wonderland is considered as a dream initiation in which she must find her self in
order to return back home. The paper focuses on the meeting of Alice and the
Caterpillar since this conversation is a crucial part of the initiation path.
