ABOUT POSSESSIVENESS AND DETERMINATION IN THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE
Abstract
The article examines the relationship between possessiveness and determination in the Bulgarian language. The hypothesis that possessive pronouns are lexical modifiers functioning in the periphery of the functionalsemantic field of determination is defended. Their functioning as determiners depending on various factors is studied. The term lexical-semantic definiteness is introduced, expressed not by grammatical means (definite/indefinite article), but rather by possessive pronouns as determiners.
