ON THE SUBJECT OF ROOT MODIFIERS IN THE FUNCTIONAL-SEMANTIC FIELD OF PERSON IN CONTEMPORARY BULGARIAN. THE RELATION BETWEEN PERSON AND EVIDENTIALITY
Abstract
The article reveals different understandings of the language means that
function in the core of the functional-semantic field of person in Bulgarian.
The article espouses a credible explanation for the presence of homonymy
between singular verb forms in the aorist (ti pisa ‘you wrote’, toi/tya pisa
‘he/she wrote’). Furthermore, the article highlights the ability of peripheral
conclusive modifiers to combine with verb forms marked by evidentiality.
