dc.description.abstract | There are more similarities than differences when comparing the concept DISEASE in Bulgarian and Polish. In both languages we find the trend for animalization and objectivization, the image of the malignerer, the connection to the domains CURSE and DEATH. Also common is the conceptualization of disease as a weakness, a passion, an obstacle. Specific for Bulgarian is the interpretation of disease as a trifle and the image of those, who take care of the sick. Typical for Polish are the metaphors disease as CONTAINER and disease as STUPIDITY. | en_US |
