dc.description.abstract | This article is about the opposition “own-foreign“ in Bulgarian folklore. Examples are selected from dictionaries of idioms and proverbs that show typical categories which include this opposition. The opposition “own-foreign“ exists in all aspects of Bulgarian people’s life – home, the family, moral and educational standards, in regulating relationships. The valuable is connected with “the own“, while the less valuable – with “the foreign“. The “own“ is always correct, good, beautiful, useful, elevated. The “foreign“ is incorrect, bad, terrible, undue, disparate. | en_US |
