| dc.description.abstract | The object of research interest in this case is the study and preservation of Bulgarian toponymy. The survey includes 31 toponyms in the region of Sofia. Etymologies are proposed with reference to different geographical objects – mountains, ridges, peaks, rivers, valleys, springs, fields, meadows, pastures and more. The disclosure of the origin and meaning of onymes will recover words long extinct and their meanings, ancient names and nicknames. The local names are a valuable source of data for Onomastics and for many other sciences. | en_US |
