The text creates a literary-historical network, outlining the links between two writers who both come from small Balkan countries – Ivo Andric and Konstantin Konstantinov. It tells about their points of intersection during the 1940s – in life, as well as in literature. Their meetings are not only ordinary events from life – they manifest their intellectual and emotional connection. This article traces a number of similarities in their biographies as well as their „distancing“ after the political changes that take place in Bulgaria and Yugoslavia from 1944 to 1946. The two texts – „A letter dated to 1920“ by Andric and an untitled literary work by Konstantinov (“A scary story“) represent these two writers as humanists.en_US
