It is widely known that Ivo Andric often hesitated and rejected to give his consent to the “dramatization” of his prose texts, and he objected even more to their scene and television performance and film or television adaptation. Andric’s hesitation about the definition of the hierarchical position of the theatrical art in the system of the universal-art understanding has been known even better. This was explained in his imaginary conversation with Goya, in which the scene and „representative“ skill were given the lowest value on the art scale. In that sense it is interesting to mention Andric’s early “coquetry” with theatrical art – not all that well known – something that is also indicated in this paper.en_US
