BUILDING LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE TEXTBOOKS OF POLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR BEGINNERS
Abstract
The paper deals with the issue of the construction of cultural background while teaching Polish as a foreign language. It focuses on some specific cultural, historical and geographical knowledge in textbooks. The paper proves that some cultural facts published as background information can be involved in the process of teaching Polish and they can improve general linguistic and cultural competence of the students.
