THE OTHERNESS IN NICOLAS BOUVIER'S BOOK LE VIDE ET LE PLEIN, CARNETS DU JAPON 1964 – 1970

Abstract

This paper is meant to analyze the otherness (psychological and cultural) and the perception of Japan in Nicolas Bouvier’s book Le vide et le plein, Carnets du Japon 1964 – 1970. We have focussed on the meeting of Japanese and Occidental mentality and habits during the second writer’s trip in Japan.
