FROM REALITY TO A ROLE MODEL: THE BIOGRAPHICAL IMAGE OF BOTEV IN ZAIMOV'S INTERPRETATION
Abstract
The article discusses Stoyan Zaimov's criticism about Hristo Botev’s image created by Zahari Stoyanov. In his biography the protagonist does not emerge as a role model because scandalous moments of his life have been revealed. While mixing the real personality with the lyrical hero, the critic insists that Botev’s poetry contains his „good image“ that could be a role model for the upbringing of the future generations.
