THE WOMAN AS A SUBJECT OF VIOLENCE IN THE BULGARIAN AND SPANISH PROVERBS
Abstract
The report aims to track and describe the violence that is faced by women, according to the testimonies of Bulgarian and Spanish proverbs. Its task is to find the reasons that lie behind such violence: is it being provoked in any way, or is it part of these two cultures. In what forms does it manifests itself? Do the proverbs encourage the violence, do they criticize it or do they present it as something natural?
