WORD COLLOCABILITY AS THE OBJECT OF ANALYSIS IN A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE VOCABULARY (BASED ON RUSSIAN AND BULGARIAN)
Abstract
The comparison of the collocability of lexical units in different languages is an important aspect of content analysis. Word collocability may be two types – syntactic and lexical. The comparative description of the syntactic collocation ability of words includes a comparison of the types of syntactic linkage, of syntactic valence, and semantic relations arising in the comparable phrases, while that of lexical collocability of lexemes involves comparing the lexical series replacing adjacent positions.
